What is Conscious Connected Breathwork?

Conscious Connected Breathwork is a guided practice that uses the breath to help calm the mind, regulate the nervous system and reconnect you with yourself.

Although we breathe automatically every day, the way we breathe changes depending on how we're feeling. Stress, anxiety, grief and the demands of everyday life can all leave us breathing in a shallow, restricted way without us even realising it.

By gently changing your breathing pattern in a safe, supported environment, you can begin to release physical tension, quiet a busy mind and create space for deeper emotional healing.

Every experience is different. Some people leave feeling deeply relaxed, others feel lighter, clearer or more energised.

You don't need any previous experience and there's nothing you need to achieve. You simply arrive as you are and allow your breath to do what it naturally knows how to do.

Why This Technique Works

Your breath is the only automatic function in your body that you can also consciously control. Because of this, it acts as a bridge between your body and your nervous system.

When life feels overwhelming, our bodies can become stuck in patterns of stress and protection. You might notice shallow breathing, tension in your shoulders or chest, difficulty switching off, poor sleep or a constant feeling of being "on edge."

Conscious Connected Breathwork works with these natural patterns. By changing the way you breathe, you're sending a message of safety to your nervous system, helping your body shift out of survival mode and into a state where rest, healing and self-awareness become more accessible.

While many people experience emotional release, others simply notice a sense of calm, clarity or feeling more connected to themselves. Every session is different, and every experience is welcomed.

What to expect in your session

Whether you choose a group Conscious Connected Breathwork session or a one-to-one experience, every session is held in a safe, supportive and compassionate environment where you're encouraged to move at your own pace.

Group sessions are often centred around a particular theme, such as stress, self-compassion, letting go, seasonal reflection or personal growth. They offer the opportunity to breathe alongside others while remaining focused on your own individual experience.

A one-to-one session is tailored specifically to you. Together, we'll explore your intentions, discuss anything that's present for you and create a personalised experience to support your wellbeing.

Every session begins with a gentle introduction, where I'll explain the breathing technique, answer any questions and ensure you feel comfortable before we begin.

You'll then lie comfortably on a yoga mat, supported with blankets and cushions, as I guide you through the Conscious Connected Breathwork practice.  Music is carefully chosen to support your journey, and I remain present throughout, offering guidance and encouragement whenever it's needed.

Every experience is unique. Some people experience emotional release, others notice physical sensations, deep relaxation, clarity or a profound sense of peace.

After the active breathing, there's time to rest, integrate your experience and gently return before leaving. There is no expectation to share, but if you'd like to reflect on your experience, you'll always be held with kindness and without judgement.

Is Conscious Connected Breathwork Right for Me?

Conscious Connected Breathwork is a powerful therapeutic practice that can support emotional wellbeing, nervous system regulation and personal growth.

While many people find it deeply restorative and transformative, it isn't suitable for everyone.

Because this can be an activating practice, everyone is asked to complete a confidential health questionnaire before attending. This allows me to ensure the practice is appropriate for you and to create the safest, most supportive experience possible.

If I don't feel Conscious Connected Breathwork is the right approach for you at this time, I'll always explain why and, where possible, suggest an alternative way I can support you.

Frequently Asked Questions

I've never tried Conscious Connected Breathwork before. Is that okay?

Absolutely. Many of the people who attend my sessions are completely new to breathwork. Everything is explained clearly, and I'll guide you throughout the experience. There is nothing you need to know before you arrive.

Will I lose control?

No. You remain aware throughout the session and are always in control of your own experience. I'll be guiding and supporting you every step of the way, and you're free to pause or adjust your breathing whenever you need to.

What if I become emotional?

Our breath has a remarkable ability to help us access emotions that may have been held within the body. Some people experience tears, laughter or a sense of emotional release, while others simply feel calm, peaceful or deeply relaxed. Every experience is different, and whatever arises is welcomed with compassion and without judgement.

What if nothing happens?

Every breathwork journey is unique. Some sessions feel deeply emotional, while others may simply leave you feeling calmer, lighter or more connected to yourself. There is no right or wrong experience, and nothing you need to achieve. Trust that your breath will meet you exactly where you are.

Is Conscious Connected Breathwork safe?

Your safety and wellbeing are always my priority. Before attending, you'll complete a confidential health questionnaire so I can ensure the practice is suitable for you.
